WHAT ARE INTIMACY BLOCKS?
When I say "intimacy blocks", I'm referring to a way your body responds to intimacy that isn’t ideal for you.
If you’re struggling to feel comfortable with and enjoy sex that you know you want mentally, it’s likely that your nervous system is activating a survival response to intimacy based on past painful experiences.
These responses are a means of protection and put your body on guard and block your ability to stay open, present and enjoy connection and pleasure.
This is really common! And it is important to understand what's happening in your body so you can actually enjoy sex.
There are 4 types of survival responses the nervous system uses:
FIGHT, FLIGHT, FREEZE, and FAWN
Take the quiz to find out your nervous system's survival response to intimacy.
